Adarsh Vikas Mandal, the Charitable Trust was established in the year 1984 in Wagle Estate, Thane. Then the Wagle estate was the industrial area that was popularly known as the slum of working-class people. To address the issue of education of the locals, the school was started by the Adarsh Vikas Mandal founder Chairman Late Shri. B.B. More, who was the veteran social worker. He started Marathi Medium Primary & Secondary schools. In 1999 Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Junior College was established. Adarsh Vikas Mandal, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Arts & Commerce was established in the year 2009. The college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. In 2009 the first affiliation was granted for the Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Commerce. In 2014, new permissions were received for 2 self-finance programs, Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting and Finance, Bachelor of Science- Information Technology. In 2016 further, the college received permission for a B. Com – Banking & Insurance and an additional division of Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting & Finance. Currently, the college runs 5 programs of the University of Mumbai. In 2009 the college started with a mere 45 students and now over 800 students are enrolled in the college. The college emphasizes on holistic & overall development of the student. The enthusiastic team of management, teaching & non-teaching staff and esteemed advisors always made efforts to provide the best environment for student’s growth & success.
