Exam Guidelines

Examination Guideline The performance of the learners shall be evaluated into two components for self-finance courses (B.A.F, B.B.I, B.Sc. IT). The learner's Performance shall be assessed by Internal Assessment with 25% marks in the first component by conducting the Semester End Examinations with 75% marks in the second component. The performance of the learners for B.A & B.Com shall be evaluated by Semester end examination with 100%. The allocation of marks for the Internal Assessment and Semester End Examinations areas shown below:-

Internal Assessment - 25%(B.A.F, B.B.I, BSc. IT)

  1. Semester End Examination-75% (B.A.F, B.B.I, BSc. IT)

i.e. 75 marks (Passing Marks 30 out of 75)
1) Duration- These examinations shall be of 2.5 hours duration

  1. Semester End Examination - 100% (B.A/B.Com.)

i.e. 100 Marks (Passing marks 40 out of 100)
1) Duration- These examinations shall be of 3.00 hours duration

  1. Practical Examination - 50marks (B.Sc. IT)

i.e. 50 Marks (Passing marks 20 out of 50)
1) Duration- These examinations shall be of 2.5 hours duration

Passing Standards:

The learner stop as a course shall have to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate for each course where the course consists of Internal Assessment and Semester end Examination. The learners shall obtain a minimum of 40% marks (i.e. 10 out of 25) in the Internal Assessment and 40% marks in Semester End Examination (i.e. 30 out of 75) separately to pass the course and minimum of Grade D, wherever applicable, to pass a particular semester. A learner will be said to have passed the course if the learner passes the Internal Assessment and Semester End Examination together. Marking, grading and passing standards for Internal Assessment, practical's, theory are subject to University rules and regulations. We declare result within 45 days on completion of exam. METHOD TO CARRY FORWARD THE MARKS

  1. A student who PASSES in the internal examination but FAILS in the Semester' End Examination of the course shall reappear for the Semester End Examination of that courses. However, his/her marks of the internal assessment shall be carried over and he/she shall be entitled for grade obtained by him/her on passing of the complete course.
  1. A student who FAILS in the Internal Assessment but PASSES in the Semester End Examination of the course shall reappear for the Internal assessment in the form of project submission for that course. However, his/her marks of the Semester End Examination shall be carried over and he/she shall be entitled for grade obtained by him/her on qualifying the course.
  1. The Evaluation for students who fail in Internal Assessment will consist of one project of 25 marks which will be divided into 20 marks for the documentation of the project given by the concerned teachers on the curriculum, 05 marks for the presentation and for the viva.

ATKT ( Allowed to Keep Term)-(B.A.F, B.B.I , B.Com, BA)

  1. A learner should be allowed to keep term for Semester II irrespective of number heads of failure in the Semester 1.
  2. A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester III - if he/she passes in all subjects each of the semester 1 & semester II
    OR
    A learner who fails in not more than four courses of Semester I & Semester Il taken together with not more than two courses each in Semester I & II.
  3. A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester IV irrespective of number heads of failure in Semester III. However, the learner shall pass each course of Semester I & Semester II in order to appear for Semester IV.
  4. A learner shall pass Semester I & Semester II & fails in not more than four courses of Semester III & IV taken together with not more than two courses each in Semester III & Semester IV.
    OR
    A learner shall pass Semester I & Semester II & fails in not more than four courses of Semester III & IV taken together with not more than two courses each in Semester III & Semester IV.
    OR
    Shall have secured ATKT in First year by falling in not more than two courses in each Semester I & Semester II & have passed Semester III & Semester IV in full.
  5. A leaner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester VI irrespective of number of heads of failure in the Semester V. However, the learner shall pass each course of Semester III & Semester IV in order to appear for Semester VI.
  6. The result of Semester VI shall be kept abeyance until the learner passes each of Semester I, Semester II, Semester III, Semester IV & Semester V.

ATKT for faculty of Science (BSc.IT)

  1. A leamer shall be allowed to keep term for Semester II irrespective of grades obtained in each course of Semester I.
  2. A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester ill if he/she has passed (grade 'E' or above in each course) in each of semester 1 & semester II.
  3. OR
    He/ She fails in not more than three courses. In each semester 1 & semester II. (For all science programs, carrying a total of 900 or more marks). He/She fails in not more than three courses with not more than a total of 200 marks. In each of Semester I & Semester II. (For all science programs, carrying a total of 900 or more marks).
  4. A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester IV irrespective of grades obtained in each course of Semester III. However, the learner has to pass either semester I & semester II in order to appear for semester IV.
  5. A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester V if he/she passes semester I, semester Il semester III & SEMESTER IV.
  6. OR
    Learner shall have passed semester | & semester II in full and secured ATKT in second year by failing in.
  7. For programs with 900 & above marks in not more than three courses in each of semester III & semester IV.
  8. For programs with less than 900 marks in not more than three courses with not more than total 200 marks in each of semester III & semester IV.
  9. OR
    Learner shall have passed semester III & semester IV in full and secured ATKT in first year by failing in.
  10. For programs with less than 900 & above marks in not more than three courses in each of semester 1& semester II.
  11. For programs with less than 900 marks in not more than three courses with not more than total 200 marks in each of semester I & semester II.
  12. Learner shall be allowed to keep term for semester VI irrespective of grades obtained in each course of semester V.
  13. The result of semester VI shall be kept in abeyance until the learner passes each of semester I, semester II, semester III, semester IV and semester V.
